About the Club

|
|
The Grosse Ile Wrestling Club is a non-profit corporation that was formed on March 29, 2006 to promote the sport of wrestling to the youth of the Township of Grosse Ile, Michigan. The mission of the Club is to teach good sportsmanship, to build the self esteem of athletes and to provide a safe environment to learn and to excel in the sport of wrestling and life.

Age Requirements

|
|
Anyone 8 years and older may join the club.
|

Conduct
|

|

|

|

|
All student members must follow the Grosse Ile Township Public School Athletic Code of Conduct to be a Member in Good Standing.

All forms must be completed prior to participation in club activates. Forms can be filled out and submitted online using Adobe Acrobat. If you don't have Acrobat, get the free software at:

In addition, a copy of the participants birth certificate must be provided prior to participation in the first tournament.

Dues
|

Fees are $75.00 Due March 15th

Equipment
|
|
|
|
|
|
Each Member must provide their own wrestling shoes and purchase a set of team regulation head protection. Other equipment such as singlets and gear bags will be provide by the Club. While normal wear and tear of team equipment is expected, misuse, abuse or deliberate mistreatment of team equipment is not acceptable. In these instances, members will be required to replace damaged equipment.

Tournaments
|
|
|
|
|
Club members will travel on weekends to tournaments. It is not necessary to make every meet, but Members are required to wrestle in a minimum of six tournaments each year. Each Member must pay their own entry fee (usually between $10 and $20) and help provide snacks and water/Gatorade for the event.
Limited transportation to tournaments is available with the coaches. Members are encouraged to coordinate their own transportation or to arrange to car pool with other members.
